AI Training

Training on your team's actual tasks, taught by a professor who teaches this every semester.

Who it's for

  • Teams that have the tools but use them at 10% of their value — or unsafely
  • Managers who need a shared, sane AI practice across a department
  • Individuals and researchers who want a personal AI workflow that actually sticks

Typical problems we hear

  • Staff pasting sensitive material into consumer chatbots because nobody set the rules
  • Two people doing the same job with wildly different AI habits and results
  • Training budgets spent on generic videos nobody finished

What we do

  1. Half-day and full-day team workshops built around your documents and tasks, not slideware
  2. A plain-language data-safety module in every engagement: green/yellow/red data rules for your context
  3. 1:1 coaching for individuals: personal workflows, research assistance, writing and analysis routines
  4. Follow-up office hours so new habits survive contact with real deadlines

Deliverables

  • A delivered workshop with exercises on your own materials (recordings and handouts included)
  • A one-page team AI practice guide: approved tools, data rules, verification habits
  • For coaching clients: a documented personal workflow setup you can repeat without us
  • A short post-training report for managers: what was covered, what to reinforce

Questions, answered

Who teaches the workshops?

Dr. Gary Yu Zhao — assistant professor of information systems who teaches Introduction to Applied AI every semester and advises the Applied AI minor. The person on the site is the person in the room.

Can training be remote?

Yes — most workshops run remotely; on-site is available in the region. Format is agreed when you book.

Do you train on our specific tools?

Yes. We train on the tools you have (or recommend a minimal set first), so nobody has to translate generic examples on Monday morning.

Is the data-safety material included for individuals too?

Absolutely — every coaching engagement covers what should never go into a chatbot and how to transform sensitive material safely.
