Privacy Policy
Mapleforge Labs LLC · v1 — November 2026. This is a plain-language v1 policy; it will be reviewed before launch.
Our posture, in one paragraph
We sell privacy and security advice, so this site practices it: no ad trackers, no selling data, no cross-site tracking. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that count aggregate visits without identifying you. We collect only what the site needs to work.
What we collect
- Accounts: email address, display name, and the profile details you choose to add (affiliation, interests, links) when you join the forum.
- Community content: forum posts, comments, reactions, and project posts you publish. Public posts are public — anyone can read them without an account.
- Proposals: sponsorship proposals are private. Only Mapleforge Labs administrators can see them, and they are treated as confidential.
- Contact messages: the details you send through the contact form or by email, used only to reply and provide the service you asked about.
- Technical basics: server logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) kept for security and abuse prevention, and privacy-friendly aggregate analytics.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent, or broker your personal data.
- We never use your posts, proposals, or messages to train AI models.
- We never run third-party advertising or behavioral tracking.
Service providers
The site runs on established infrastructure providers (hosting, database/authentication, and transactional email). They process data only to operate the site, under their own security and privacy commitments. Email is used for verification, password resets, and the notifications you opt into.
Your choices
- You can edit or delete your profile at any time from your account page.
- You can delete your account self-serve; on request we will anonymize your public posts and delete your proposals.
- You can opt out of every non-essential email from your email preferences.
Data retention & security
Account data is kept while your account is active. Proposals from declined projects are retained for a limited period for review-history purposes, then deleted. Access to member data is restricted by row-level security in the database and by role; admin actions are logged.
