Project idea discussion. We screened 232 papers down to the techniques with a concrete artifact and a real evaluation. Question for the thread: which two or three methods deserve a head-to-head benchmark first — prompt compression, context pruning, or output-side savings? And on which agent tasks should we measure the success cost?

Prompt compression first — it's the easiest to bolt onto an existing agent loop, so the benchmark would be useful to the most people. Measure on multi-step tasks, not single Q&A, or the success cost will look artificially low.

Agreed on multi-step tasks. Our corpus notes show the same pattern: one well-known minification approach cut tokens ~42% but dropped task resolution by about 12 points. That trade-off curve is exactly what a shared benchmark should map.
